How To Get Thinner Thighs With Just 10 Yoga Moves!
You want thinner thighs. But you also want an enjoyable way to exercise. I have one word for you. “Yoga.” Yoga does not require a gym or special equipment. And, yoga can be basic and simple for beginners while providing more advanced options for individuals looking to challenge themselves.
Yoga is also a fantastic way to get in shape because it helps you lose weight and build muscle. And, yes – Yoga is particularly helpful at giving you stronger, sculpted, and thinner thighs.
I have listed 10 amazing Yoga moves that can help tone and tighten your thighs. For the sake of clarification, I often refer to “right” and “left” leg or hands. With these sorts of exercises, it is advised that you complete the move with the opposite arm and leg.
Some of these moves are for beginners, others are for more advanced yoga practices. This would be a good opportunity to assess where you are and set future goals. If you would prefer to have a yoga teacher lead you though these poses, I’d advise you to get a personal yoga teacher to teach you in the privacy of your own home, or join a yoga studio.
Yoga Pose for Thinner Thighs #1: Eagle
The Eagle Pose (also known as “Garudasana”) is a standing balance pose that demands and develops your focus, strength, and serenity. This pose, done correctly, will calm your mind and remove distractions.
With this pose, you will be balancing on one foot. On the foot, you are balancing on bend at the knee to squat down. Wrap your other leg around the bent knee tucking your foot behind your opposite calf. Your back should be flat and leaned slightly in. Your arms bent in front of you, wrapping one around the other with both palms facing outwards.

The Dancer Pose, (also known as “Natarajasana”) will demand and increase your body’s overall strength, flexibility, and coordination. It improves flexibility in your shoulders, chest, and hips. It also will stretch and strengthen your thighs (giving you a taller look), ankles, and abdomen. In addition, the Dancer pose will improve the flexibility in your spine, shoulders, and hamstrings.
This pose will require a little bit of flexibility and balance. With this pose, balance on your right foot with your planted leg straight and toes facing forward. Raise your left leg behind you, bending at the knee and grabbing your left foot with your left hand. Your left toes should be pointing towards the ceiling. Your body should be leaning forward for balance. Then take your right hand and reach out straight in front of you, arm extended.

Yoga Pose for Thinner Thighs #3: Firefly
The Firefly Pose is a challenging favorite because it strengthens your arms, chest, and wrists, while stretching your legs, inner groin, and back. Firefly enhances your overall balance and fitness.
This move is advanced but you should be practicing your way into this pose. In order to practice your way into this pose, it is presented in a series of steps.
Step 1: Facing forward with your legs spaced slightly farther than your shoulders, bend down at the hips reaching between your legs and behind you with your arms.
Step 2: With your hands reach under and behind you, place them flat on the ground. Bend at the knee and bring your rear to your elbows. Your feet should now be in front of you almost touching. Your arms should be supporting your weight.
Step 3: With your arms supporting your weight, extend your legs straight. Your rear should line up with your elbows and feet.
Step 4: Finally, raise your feet higher so that they are at the same level as your head. Your rear should be in-between your wrist and elbows.
Yoga Pose for Thinner Thighs #4: Crescent Lunge
The Crescent Lunge (also known as “Anjaneyasana”) is a dynamic standing yoga pose that uses virtually all the muscles in your entire body. It increases flexbility and strengthens your lower and upper body. You will also experience improved balance.
Start out with your right leg in front of you. Then bend towards your right knee as it makes a 90-degree angle. With your left foot not moving from its spot, bend at the knee, making about a 100-degree angle. Your knee should be touching the ground. Puffing your chest out, raise both arms above your head. Keeping your arms straight look straight up towards the ceiling.

The Tree Pose (also known as “Vrksasana”) is a basic yoga pose that will improve your balance and centering. The Tree Pose will definitely strengthen and tone your leg muscles, ankles and feet, as well as your groin and inner thigh.
Balancing on your right leg, with your foot firmly planted into the ground. Stand tall with your back straight, shoulders back, face forward, and hands on hips. Bring your left leg up placing the bottom of your left foot against the inside of your right thigh. Then balance while maintaining the position. Be sure to not press your left foot against the right side of your knee.

The standing Head-to-Knee pose (also known as “Dandayamana Janushirasana”) is a total body strengthener that will challenge your balance and focus. Although the Head to Knee pose sounds simple, it requires flexibility in your hips, upper back and hamstrings. You must also have, or develop, tremendous balance and lots of patience to execute it properly.
In the standing position, place your right foot out a couple of paces in front of you. Bend forward at the knee, keeping your left leg straight. Find your balance and steady yourself with both hands, using your fingertips to touch the mat on each side of your right foot. Then keeping your right foot planted, straighten your right leg, so your rear is facing the ceiling.

The Chair Pose (also known as “Utkatasana”) is a standing yoga posture that will tone your entire body, particularly your thighs! Utkatasana is an intense pose for your thighs and will get your heart pumping quickly.
With your feet shoulder width apart squat as if you were sitting in a chair. Your thighs should be parallel to the ground. Raise your arms straight above your head so that they make a straight continuous line with your back.

The Downward Facing Dog Pose will energize and rejuvenate your entire body. It stretches your hamstrings, shoulders, calves, arches, hands, and spine while building strength in your arms, shoulders, and legs. Perhaps that why your dog always looks so happy!
Standing straight up with your feet shoulder-width apart, place your hands on the floor in front of you. Your heels should still be touching the ground. Raise your rear to the ceiling and keep your back straight.

The Garland Pose (also known as “Malasana”) stretches your thighs, groin, hips, ankles, and torso. It tones your abdominal muscles and improves the function of your colon to help with elimination. This pose also increases circulation and blood flow in your pelvis, which can help improve your sexual energy. What’s not to like!
Stand with your feet shoulders width apart with your toes slightly facing outwards. Then squat by bending at the knees. The back of your thighs should be resting on your ankles, but your rear should not be touching the ground. Hold your arms in front of you.

The Warrior III Pose strengthens the back side of your body, including your shoulders, hamstrings, calves, ankles, and back. It also tones and strengthens your abdominal muscles. Warrior III also improves balance, posture, and full-body coordination.
With your left foot planted on the ground firmly, slightly bend your left knee. Extend your right leg straight behind you and torso forward with your arms extended in front of your head. Your left leg should be the stand for your right leg, torso, and arms making a long flat surface.
