I wrote & produced “The 12 Days of Christmas Success” song a few years ago to detail each day by the “gifts” of success given on each of the twelve days of Christmas. Not surprisingly, The Twelve Days of Christmas Success is a cumulative song, meaning that each verse is built on top of the previous verses. Each verse describes a gift that will lead you to more success and happiness.
I’ve listed each of the 12 verses below, with a bit of explanation of each of the 12 gifts. I think you will enjoy the song for this holiday season and all year long, as a reminder of the gifts you should give yourself.

1st Day of Christmas: Strong Belief in Self is the Key
All lasting success begins with believing in who you are and what you want. A lack of strong belief in yourself is equal to self-sabotage. Here are four steps that will allow you to believe in yourself starting…now! This is the first gift.
- You must believe you can do whatever it is that you want for your life. It does not matter what anyone else thinks.
- Think about the thing that you believe that you want. In excruciating detail. Think about why you want it. Think about what your life will be like when you have it.
- Act 100% in line with the thing you believe you want. You are what you Do.
- Don’t ease up in believing in yourself or in your pursuit of the thing that you believe you want. Stay after it every single day.
2nd Day of Christmas: 2 Great Plan B’s
No matter how great your first plan, you must be flexible enough to take advantage of new opportunities. You must also be loyal to the goal, as opposed to being locked into how you get to the goal. I ask you to come up with at least two Plan B ways that you could achieve more success – or achieve success faster – in reaching one of your short or long term goals. Think it through, but don’t over think it! You have the answer (your better Plan B) in you already. Personally, I have found that my Plans B, C, D….(by this time I might be on Plan Z!) have actually been much better than my Plan A was in delivering me happiness, success, and the accomplishment of my goals.
3rd Day of Christmas: 3 Mastermind Mates
It’s important to find those who will encourage your greatness and generate ideas with you for ways to reach your goal. Keep looking. Your 3 Mastermind Mates are out there looking for you.
4th Day of Christmas: 4 Family Goals
I encourage you to set goals for your family. And, you should apply the same rigorous thinking to the goals you set for your family as you apply to your professional goals. You want personal success AND professional success. Make it so.

5th Day of Christmas: 5 Powerful “Whys”
At least as important as “What” you want to accomplish is “Why” you want to accomplish what you want to accomplish. Here’s why: When you are faced by tough times, bad luck, fatigue, or other challenge, it is your “Why” that will keep you moving forward. Make sure you are clear on the powerful “Why(s)” you want to reach your goal.
6th Day of Christmas: 6 Success Secrets
No matter what you want to accomplish, there are secrets – or key steps – that will significantly increase your chances for success. To find these secret steps, you could ask advice of those who have already accomplished what you want to accomplish, or you could research how a person achieved their success and then replicate their steps, or you could sit with your Mastermind Mates and generate ideas that will best allow you to succeed.
7th Day of Christmas: 7 Reasons to be Optimistic
Optimism is an amazing super power. If you remain optimistic as you pursue your goals – no matter how tough a situation you find yourself facing – you will significantly improve the chances that you will reach your mountaintop. I can tell you that negativity NEVER made anything better. Be positive. Stay positive.
8th Day of Christmas: 8 Strong Friendships
Friendships are one of the treasures of a life well lived. Fill your life with great friends. That said, better one great friend than two so-so friends. Great friends will encourage you. They will support you. They will be there when it’s tough. They will hold you up when you win!
9th Day of Christmas: 9 Work-Life Balance Tips
Work-Life Balance is not a myth. The key to achieving work-life balance is to set specific goals and action-steps to reach your key goals in these five areas: Family. Friends. Fun. Self. Work. Make sure that each of these are on your To-Do list every day. If you need tips for getting to a balanced work-life, send me a message.
10th Day of Christmas: 10 Long Hugs
We hug what we love. Period. There’s something magical about getting and giving a heart-felt hug to/from a loved one or close friends. When you hug, you feel better, more capable, healthier… Try to hug someone or several someones 10 times each day. Do it for a week and let me know how much better you (and they) feel.
11th Day of Christmas: 11 Positive Affirmations
Affirmations are positive statements about yourself that help you become happier, achieve more success, overcome self-sabotage, relieve stress, eliminate negative thinking… Indeed, you are what you think. Think positive and you become positive. Think about success and you become more successful. Using affirmations regularly will create a swirl of positive beliefs & thoughts, that will lead to positive actions by you, which will lead you to your highest possibilities. Speak your way to the best life you seek.
12th Day of Christmas: 12 Life Goals
I was quoted during a recent speech as saying that, “A life lived without goals is not worth living.” I stand by that. Make the most of the blessing that is life by deciding on the 12 (or more!) things that you want to do, be, have, or experience in the time you have on earth. Put together plans for achieving each goal. Follow the plans each day.

*ABOUT THE LAST FRENCH FRY: I love French fries! Few things in life are more satisfying than the last savory French fry you find at the bottom of the bag. Each of what these short notes – that I am calling “Last French Fry” – are designed to be tasty little morsels of helpful information, just like a French fry. I made a decision (see what I did there?) that ’ll be sharing these short notes in this format for at least the next year.
Enjoy Life!
