Got Frizzy Hair? Here’s Your Perfect 3-Step Hair Care Routine
Frizzy hair can be nearly impossible to control. You may be brushing and brushing hoping to bring some control to your wild-looking, but precious locks. But, is your current frizzy hair routine doing more damage than good? If you’re like most, the answer is, “Probably.”
When it comes to getting your frizzy hair under control, there are three important steps to keep in mind. Take these steps and you will beat the frizz.
Step 1 – Don’t Skip Conditioner
One of the best ways to fight frizzy hair is to calm it down a bit with some soothing conditioner. A conditioning treatment allows the hair to relax and loosen so when you style and dry it later, it will be smooth and easier to manage.
When searching for conditioners, search for “frizz control” so you have a formula designed for your particular type of hair. Be sure to not over apply. If after shampooing and conditioning, you find that you still have tangles, rinse and repeat.
Step 2 – Don’t Over-Brush Your Frizzy Hair
After you finish conditioning and begin drying your hair, be sure not to over brush it. When your frizzy hair is damp it is fine to run a comb through it to ensure all knots are taken care of. But as you apply any other products to your hair and begin blow drying, try to limit your brushing.
Over brushing will create frizz, especially as you continue to dry your hair. It is best to start with a comb and by the end of drying only use fingertips.
Step 3 – Use a High Quality Hair Dryer
When it comes to frizzy hair, properly drying it is the most important step. You are going to want to invest in a high-quality hair dryer to make sure you can properly regulate heat and airspeed. This will give you more control over how you blow dry your hair, while not leaving any damp spots.
Start at the roots when it comes to blow drying. Set the speed to about medium and have it fairly warm. Once your roots are dry, begin to work your way towards the ends. Continue to comb your hair lightly throughout the drying. Once your hair does feel completely dry, continue to dry for another minute or two, confirm it is all completely damp free. Damp hair that air dries is very susceptible to frizz!
Few things are as discouraging as spending all that time turning your frizzy hair into fabulous hair, only to find that your hair soon puffs into a giant ball of frizz. Ain’t nobody got time for that! Remember these important steps when getting ready in the morning and you will be much more successful in maintaining your beautiful locks throughout the day. Frizzy hair no more!
